We offer various ceramics classes, choose from:
2 Hour Private Group Class - ideal for birthdays, hens parties, team building or simply a fun catch up with friends
2 Hour Introduction Class - perfect for beginners wanting to give pottery a go
Term Classes - develop your skills, learn the entire process and build your confidence. All ability levels welcome.

2hr wheel basics class
Whether you're trying pottery for the first time or looking for a fun creative experience, this one-off class is the perfect introduction to wheel throwing. Over two hours our qualified teacher will guide you through the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel in a relaxed and professional environment.
Your class includes the glazing and firing of one of your handmade pieces per student, ready to collect approximately 2-4 weeks later. If you'd like to keep additional pieces they can be fired for an additional fee.
With a maximum of just eight students per class, everyone receives plenty of guidance and encouragement. Our classes are lighthearted, unhurried and designed to help you discover the joy of working with clay.
These classes can also be booked as a private class if you have 5+ participants.
These classes are $79 per person, maximum of 8 per class. For ages 16+ and run at varying times over weekends, please email alkimiceramics@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Term classes
Come along to our 4 week term classes, price includes 2hour classes run at the same time for 4 weeks (8hrs total class time). Classes are for all experience levels, we’ll explore different throwing or hand-building techniques and create fully functional wares and beautiful keep sakes or gifts. Learn the whole process, from throwing and trimming to glazing and decorating - the possibilities are limitless!
Professional studio, all clay and firing is included in the term price - no limit to the amount of clay you can use, and you get to keep as many pieces as you like for glazing and firing.

Platter + Plate workshop
Come create your own ceramic platter + serving plates! This is a hand-building workshop and will run over 2 weeks ~ 2 classes 2 weeks apart. The first class is the making class, we will make 1 large platter and a collection of smaller plates and bowls to use as a set. This creative process is at the workbench, working with slabs rather than on the wheel. The second class will be 2 weeks later, we will focus on decorating and glazing our platters + plates to create a beautiful, functional set for your kitchen.
Perfect for entertaining and a great talking point!
